Spanair carry-on rules?

Spanair carry-on rules?
Wasn't sure if this should be in the SA forum or here...
Taking a one way from BCN to VCE next month after getting off a cruise. Booked a traveler class (coach?) seat for a cheap fare which included one checked bag and one carry on. Question is, in the US you are allowed one carryon and one personal item which for me includes a small backpack and a 14x9x22 carryon, is the personal item (backpack) allowed on Spanair? Thanks

OP, did you go on your trip yet? What was your carry-on experience? My friend's son is flying a short flight on Spanair next week and will have a garment bag and backpack. He is with a group and most will have about the same. I am hoping it isn't a problem for them.
