This is not related to Cathay Pacific, so moving it to the appropriate forum.

They are not grounded, and got their aviation license renewed for 5 years. All existing flights business as usual ...

I was on a Hong Kong Express flight from HKG to CNX recently.

The crew was young. The FAs were young women (1 thai and 1 HK) and the pilots were both Western.

The pilot excused himself from the flight deck about ~8 times on the 2.5 hour flight. Each time, the stewardess would go into the flight deck with the remaining pilot. *HOWEVER* when the excused pilot would return to the flight deck, the FA would stay in the flight deck with both pilots, door locked, for approx 10 minutes.

After a few instances of this, I started watching more keenly. The FA would retrieve her carryon and look around furtively.

I hate to be distrusting, but alarm bells were going off. I could speculate, but I won’t. Even if the pilot was sick, why would all 3 lock themselves in multiple times? There was a constant rotation among the 4. The flight deck doors opened probably 10 times during the short flight.

My spidey senses (and someone who “parties”) tells me something untoward was going on.

Am I right to be concerned or am I just overly paranoid?

OK, I am naïve. What do you think was going on?
