MAS / GARUDA cooperation

Read from justplanes.com:

Agreed on Thursday to boost code-sharing and other arrangements between Indonesia and Malaysia.
MAS increased frequency on the Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta route from 14 to 20 flights a week.
The 2 airlines will also cooperate on freighter services.

This was also announced on a major Malaysian newspaper a couple of days ago. The report mentioned joint marketing, tourism promotion and even operational alignment for cost-saving. If this works well, KUL might become a second major intercontinental gateway to Indonesia (alongside SIN). I wonder if this is also somehow linked to KLM.
