Unless they have changed their seats over the past couple of years, Row 1 on the A320 do have extra legroom. Right side of the isle (D,E,F) would have better privacy since the left side have a transparent screen infront.

I have only ever flown on the planes where the front rows are business class 2 x 2 x 2 seating all with what looks like the same space

Air Asia's row 1 is a standard narrowbody bulkhead type seat - and has more room than any other seat bar row 12 and 14.

Rows 2-5 are sold as hot seats (because they're closer to the front), but have the same dismal pitch as any other row except the aforementioned 1,12 and 14.

To get off the plane faster or to use the lavatories in flight - row 1 is more convenient, but 14 has a bit more legroom.

I'm 6ft6 (or near 2m for most of you) and Row 1 was fine for the longish AA sectors I took it on.

Biggest worry for me were the unstrapped in hostesses opposite drinking hot coffee during the take off roll.

1 & 14 OK.
Row 12 cannot recline due to emergency door.

That would be on Air Asia X on a Airbus A330

The previous posters on Row 1 on a Air Asia or an Air Asia Indonesia A320 are correct also - not that much different to row 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 which are all hot seats - except in row 1 the armrests are fixed for the tray

I booked 1 F from BKK to RGN and found it excellent.

As most AirAsia customers are super price conscious , there was no one else in the red seats.. Its a great deal
