Well nothing terrible has happened lately. Its the penalty for a poor history. I do think they should gradually reduce the importance until say 50+ years ago the effect of crashes are negliable to a safety record. Most importanly should be the last 20-30 years or less. So China airlines needs a nearly clean sheet for another 10-15years to rise from the bottom ranks.

They take the past 30 years worth of history as record so I am actually surprised CI is on the list.

On the bright side, EVA was number 6.

CI's previous accidents/incidents have been well documented, and it looks like the culture of the cockpit crew has been changed.
