Broker or Membership Advice
We have chartered maybe 4-6 round trips per year, using the same broker for decades. Until this year, we have had exceedingly good luck but now we are bumping into the challenges of private aviation. We had a Global cancelled over the holidays and just learned that a G-550 was pulled for
a trip over the weekend. In both cases, our broker has found back ups for us, but with less than ideal planes and/or times. We have never joined any membership organizations because our needs are rare and are specific - sometimes needing small planes for two and other times a longer range jet. We are not going fishing for empty legs but we want our needs met without last minute drama. Are cancellations less likely to happen with owned fleets, or are our experiences being replicated in all facets of private aviation? I'd love any insights so we know how to proceed going forward.
TIA
