It might have just been a logical "child" forum of AC?

It may be that posts by various members of the Air Canada forum outside of that forum speak for themselves. There is no discussion here that has not already been addressed in prior posts and announcements within the two forums themselves.
Except for a single question: No, the TalkBoard did not specifically vote on the establishment of the WestJet forum. There are on occasion decisions made at the local level to ensure a more fluid flow of information about topics and sub-sets of topics. Issues similar to these and others involving individual members measure in the dozens if not more on a daily basis. It would be burdensome to the TalkBoard and perhaps overly micro-managed if they were to be required to take part in each and every matter daily on FlyerTalk.
Again, i would direct you to prior threads in which the rationale for the WestJet forum was posted - all within the forums named.
Note: this pattern of snipping among members of the Air Canada forum does not play well in the public view, just in case any of you did not notice.
