Congratulations Randy!
I just noticed the banner ad at the top of the pages for your new book! Most people may have not noticed it because they may have purchased FT premium.
I know how hard you were working on it. Must be nice to get it over with and see the results of your efforts.

As I have FlyerTalk Premium, I did not see the banner. I tried logging out and while I saw a number of ads, the banner for Randy's book was not being shown.
Randy, can you make a post in this thread telling us a bit about the book (subject matter, brief description, price, where it can be bought)?

Thanks, Mary. I sent them an e-mail asking about prices which include shipping to Israel.
I also looked it up on Amazon.com, and while it is is not listed there, I was told, "Customers who searched for Mileage Pro ultimately chose: Insulate and Weatherize : Expert Advice from Start to Finish (Build Like A Pro)."
Personally, if my airline doesn't offer me a seat on a plane which is already insulated and weatherized, I am not taking that flight!

I'll definitely buy it and read it.
But before I do, I have to ask...
... is there any way to earn miles/points with the purchase?
(No smart alecky answers like use my SPG Amex)

I'm buying a copy as well and am going to see if I can get Randy's autograph on the inside cover.

Here's two things. I actually wrote a quick blog entry about the process of the book and some of you may enjoy the read:
http://blogs.flyertalk.com/blogs/milesfiles/
As for signing copies - it's funny you should ask. Apparently some of the early orders in to OAG are asking that i sign copies. We're not sure where that is coming from because it was before we even added book ads to FT. So anyway, i may slide into Chicago next week to pore over a few thousands books with a sharpie. We'll see.
Note: don't expect miracles here. The book is designed as a "Dummies Guide" and truth-be-told, I'd think that buyers of the book are not readers of InsideFlyer or members of FlyerTalk. Fortunately or unfortunately, there are a few million of those type of members of frequent flyer programs, so perhaps sales will be good.
To date there have been about eight books published about frequent flyer programsI hope this will be considered the best of the bunch.
By the way, in the December issue of InsideFlyer, you'd be able to read about the book as well as a chapter excerpt.
Again, the secret of appreciating this book - it's designed to be a "Dummies Guide."

Sounds perfect as gifts to make it easier for FTers to explain our obsessions.

Randy, you might want to consider having a word with the people who are selling Mileage Pro on line.
I asked them for the price including shipping to Israel and received the following reply:
Hi,
The cost for an annual subscription to the Executive Flight Guide is GBP
169.00 shipping to Israel included.
If you want to make an order please contact us or send an email with
your delivery and billing details.
Thanks & Regards
Customer Services.
As I have never heard of the Executive Flight Guide and have no intention of reading it, I think I will pass up sending them the 169 Pounds Sterling.

Anybody review this yet? Noobs or FOGs? I just noticed it as a bottom banner on my InsideFlyer online subscription.
