When are election results posted?

Just curious as to how long it takes for TB election results to be counted and posted.
Thanks.

We've been here for hours going over the results for any snags - we did find one so far in that during the balloting, we assisted several members change their user names (ie cornellstudent became cornellalum. etc.) and the system flags those. So we are matching those up to make sure they are included.

It does appear that there is a tie for the fifth position and after we finalize our audit and the results stand, we will be asking the current TalkBoard what they feel we should do. We will be withholding the names of all the candidates until we receive clear directions from the TalkBoard so that there is no chance of any bias in their decisions. We hope that our members understand that. Currently, three members are tied for the fifth place finish. As in many elections - every vote does count.

From the "did you know" files:
- The top candidate this year received about 45% more votes than the top candidate in last years elections.

- Eight candidates voted only for themselves, no one else.

- Five candidates did not vote in this years elections.

- Among those candidates that did vote, one candidate did not vote for themselves, yet they did vote for five others.

- This years elections resulted in the first tie among the open positions.

- A total of 2,762 ballots were cast.

- There were 34 candidates.

And that's interesting, funny or sad depending on your perspective.

If a candidate is currently on Talkboard and running for election this time around (missydarlin for one), should they not automatically recluse themselves from the discussion on how to deal with the tie? There is an inherent bias if they are allowed to participate in the discussion - no?

According to Randy: " We will be withholding the names of all the candidates until we receive clear directions from the TalkBoard so that there is no chance of any bias in their decisions."
No need for any current TB Member to recuse him or herself (If I am interpreting his words correctly).

Withholding the names from us or from Talkboard... the distinction is not made.

Thanks O2K, that's exactly why i have withheld names of any candidate finish from the current TB so that they may make decisions in as un-bias situation as possible. They are all extremely curious, but i think most understand i am trying hard to not place any speculation on them and why they voted to decide a certain solution to this.

Thank you for the clarification. If TB members do not know the list of names, then I withdraw my question asking if those running for election will be excusing themselves from the discussion.

Will ALL the results be posted eventually? I have several bets pending about whether I broke into the double-digits in terms of votes!
