Linking to FT
Thinking about starting a new travel website, www.onlinetravelresources.com.
In addition to news and tips, thought I'd put on a few search engines and maybe even earn the cost of maintaining site. I started with Travelocity. It said that I could not represent any competitor. So I looked at expedia. it said the same and wants $500,000 liquidated damages for any violation. Gosh those guys dislike each other.
Anyhow, links seem fine. Affiliations seem forbidden. Too bad because a site trying to give various options cannot limit itself to one engine.
So maybe no affiliations. My guess was that with luck I'd cover the $25 per month cost of the site.
I would like to direct link to various Flyertalk forums and threads bypassing the front page if permitted to do so. All links will be to flyertalk and will not be a frame or something within my page. Is this permitted? I will only do so with permission.
This project is pure hobby and will move slowly. Maybe I'll wake up before this becomes a bad dream. You know -- No good deed goes unpunished.

Dozens of our members have included links to parts or all of FlyerTalk in their various blogs and or personal and commercial Web sites - and we always feel honored. Good luck with your plans and glad you consider FlyerTalk the place to recommend others to if they are interested in frequent flyer programs, etc.
As for the affiliates, i really don't know anything of this and you might look at smartertravel.com which seems to be a purpose-driven Web site just for affiliate bookings, etc.
I'm just the frequent flyer guy.
Again thanks and feel free to link to FlyerTalk.
