Forum reordering

FWIW, I like the new reordering of forums. Putting Coupon Connection in the community section sends a message that it's for those who are part of this community, not poachers.

I too like the new forum reordering.

When the Coupon Connection was on the "Miles & Points" page, everyone (who had enough posts) could and did see it - as that is usually the "main" page they check. By being on the "Community" page now, usuallly only the ones that are really interested - not the poachers - will view it, because "they have to go out of their way".

I also like some of the other changes that were made. Such as the consolidation of MC and VI into "Other credit cards". And the new "'Budget Travel" forum is a welcome addition!

Thanks. We do recognize that these changes to simplify will not suit everyone but FlyerTalk has become such a huge place over the years that every once and a while there is a need to reflect on bigger id not always better. Some ideas we will try will simply not be proved to be the right thing. We hope to have most of the other changes involving LocalTalk completed today.

The credit goes to the efforts of the member-elected TalkBoard for spearheading these changes. They have been wonderful, especially that attorney28 guy.....

For the same reasons it made sense to move Coupon Connection, maybe S.P.A.M. should be moved as well?

Is FT able to track how many people use the "My FlyerTalk" feature?

As that's how I normally view FT, I can't say I had noticed the forums had changed around until I started seeing posts about missing forums. Maybe those with the My FlyerTalk feature aren't impacted, as I can still see what I saw before.

Tom,

The only issue with MyFlyertalk... is that the forums moved would appear in a different order in your list.

I got a number of emails from people that could not see "Coupon Connection" in their listing... until I told them it would show up lower in the list.

I have so many different forums bookmarked, even the ones I only view occasionally, that I didn't even notice the order had changed. At least they're still all there!

They've been amalgamated into the travel and dining forum - so for example, threads about the LON airports are now in the London section in travel.
