"Network for Good" FT Advertisements

I'm curious - how does the relief effort agency in the "Network for Good" banner ads on FT pay for the banners? Was this a space donation by FT, or are they using funds from the donations to advertise?

Furthermore, if they aren't directly involved in the relief efforts, but instead help 'distribute' the donations, do they take a cut?

Just curious if anyone knows a bit more about this. Since FT has it's own donation program, I would assume that it was not a donation of space from FT to this agency, but could be wrong.

It looks to me that the banner ads are "brokered" through tribalfusion.com, so it doesn't seem to me that there is a 1-to-1 personal relationship between the advertiser and this specific site.

The "Smart Advertisers FAQ" can be found here:
http://tribalfusion.com/SmartAdvertisers/faqs.html
Explore more of the site if you're interested.

Granted this doesn't address how Network for Good got their banner ads out. Visiting their home page shows they are pretty well sponsored: AOL, Cisco, and Yahoo. If I go to the cisco web page, there is a link from the cisco home page to the network for good site, so apparently they are legit.

As for this organization's efficacy and money management, I don't know.

Knock, knock... Housekeeping...!

I guess this thread will find a better place at the Randy Petersen forum.

I know nothing of this organization and they are in no way connected with the current FlyerTalk Cares program.

As an aside, FlyerTalk Cares was among anyones first efforts to help out in the tsunami devastation and we should all be proud of the results and the other efforts such as those in the Delta forum who banded to gether to donate awards/miles to the effort.

In the next few days we will take down the current tsunami effrot of the FlyerTalk Cares program, take a rest and relaunch with a general worldwide fund of contributions to other causes. We see this a a year-round effort to reflect this community. There seems to be enough new efforts to assist in the tsunami efforts that I feel comfortable enough to look elsewhere in the world to help others. We are so proud we could help at this particular point in time.
