It happened again!

I was on a charter r/t from TLV to Bodrum, Turkey. The plane was full in both directions (some 230 people). My FlyerTalk tagged luggage was the 8th piece off the plane in Turkey and about the 20th in TLV.

This can not be just chance.

Flights from YYZ-FLL-YYZ last month on full A320's. Our suitcase came off third in FLL, and about tenth in YYZ. And the FT luggage tags make the case easier to spot amongst the sea of similar black suitcases. Still got the originals from 2001 (when the current ones came out), but I have spares, just in case.

I noticed that the tie that comes with the FT tags snaps off pretty easily. I don't think they're being stolen, I think they just get stressed too much and break off. I've replaced mine with stronger ties and have had no problem with them disappearing.

My last itinerary:

TLV-EWR on CO: One checked bag and it was among the first few off the plane.

EWR-FLL on CO: The bag was not among the first but the issue was theoretical as there were only about 20 checked bags on the entire plane.

MIA-CDG on AF: Not an issue as I did not see my bags until MXP.

CDG-MXP on AZ: I had two bags. Both were among the first ten off the plane.

MXP-TLV on AZ: One bag was the first off the plane, the other came about 10 later.

True, all of these flights were in Business Class, but I never had this kind of experience before I bought the FlyerTalker tags. More than that, this is the same experience I have been having when flying coach.

The magic tags worked again!

Yesterday, flying El Al in coach class, TLV-MXP, mine was the first piece to arrive.

(There were only 31 people on the flight, so it didn't matter all that much, but I have no LY status and there were others in F/C who should have gotten their bags before me.)

I have been using my FT tags for years now as there were commonly confused by DL's baggage handlers as PM priority tags ^ . However, DL has recently announced that there will no longer be any priority luggage service for domestic flights , so I guess that I will have to fly more international legs to get my money's worth out of these tags.

I took two more flights since that TLV-MXP one I reported. On the way back, when landed at TLV (again, flying Coach), my bag was the 3rd one off.

The next day, when I flew a domestic airline in Israel, it was the second off -- but I guess that doesn't count as there was only one other bag on the flight.

We've seen a huge increase in orders for the FT luggage tags - Michelle tells me that in the last two days alone we have sold 201 of these tags.

The tags are great for spotting fellow FTers in lounges. 50 of us were headed to SIN for the pepper crab Do on Thursday. I trolled the RCC at SFO looking for bright yellow tags and met unagi1 and his wife. However, the person reading FT on his laptop was a lurker and not a poster - I encouraged him to join.

Checking in with security at SIN eaaarrrrrly Monday morning, the agent asked me if I was traveling alone or as part of a group. I said alone - and she said that the person ahead of me had the same bright yellow tag on her suitcase. I confessed, we were in town for pepper crab - so she asked late arrivals with bright yellow FT tags how were the crabs.

Just ordered 5 tags a minute ago.

I'll try to generate some more interest in FT up here in the deep-freeze that is YQB !

Sure, the baggage handlers are prioritizing the FT tagged luggage. Whatever.
