Time out for Empress Please
 

The Air Canada has turned into one nasty b!tch fest. Now it is Empress spouting off at anyone who dares say something negative against his beloved employer, Air Canada. Today his quote is:

This was directed towards Shareholder, a long-time posted to these forums.

Perhaps it is time for the Air Canada forum to get a moderator.

In fairness--this has to be put in context. SH has been trying to goad Empress into this for some time.

SH should take his fight off line. That is what is inappropriate.

When quoting other members, it is customary to provide a link. That helps both with credibility for the claim and to allow others to find context.

There appears to be so much rancor between several of the AC members that isolated timouts would seem anachronistic. Either lots of timeouts, or amnesty for past indiscretions with zero tolerance going forward.

Perhaps a moderator would be appropriate for the forum. But I won't express an opinion on that. I will suggest that the trend towards publicly calling for member timeouts is a bit worrisome. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I think the word "vindictive" is the best description.

Sooner or later, you can expect a "Time out for Shareholder please" thread from the same topic starter.

And there he goes again posting unsubstantiated statements that Empress works for Air Canada or Aeroplan or whatever.

This guy has made more enemies and caused more problems than anyone on AC and should be barred from that site.That would negate any need for moderation there.

As anybody who has participated or lurked on the Air Canada forum will have noticed Empress's input is invaluable. Ask any question about a fare,load factor, routing etc. and he will answer usually within an hour. He does this for any poster whether you are a newbie,occasional poster or a big contributor. I don't understand the motives of some people when they criticize him for doing this. I feel it is totally understandable that he lost it(mildly IMHO) after some of the garbage he is subjected to. I'd like to know what the guy who started this thread brings to the AC forum? Extreme negativity about AC is all I see.

Empress is perhaps the most valuable member of the AC forum.

There are some who would like to take anything that happens in our nice self-moderating community and twist it into their own agendas. CrampedIn13A nailed it to a tee.

We've been through this before... for the most part, those who didn't like it, left. Some don't like it but want to impose their wishes on the rest of us so keep coming back with the same tired cries for assistance when none is needed nor wanted, as can be attested by the past polling of members.

MapleLeaf appears to me to be very vindictive towards Empress. I have no idea why. ML continues to make assertations that Empress is an AC employee, who really cares whether he is or isn't an employee. I don't know whether he is or not, every other poster on the AC forum insist that he is not an AC employee, but who gives a sh!t anyway.
Empress and Shareholder are two of the most helpful people on the AC board, they have possibly stepped over the each other bounds, that is there problem, not mine, definatley not the sniveling whiner Mapleleaf's problem. Mummy Mummmy, Johny hurt me, he took my toy away. Get over it.
Mapleleaf has repeatedly told all that he has stopped flying AC and has moved his bizz to LH, good for him if that is what he wants to do. But quit the whining about AC when you don't even fly them.

The AC forum seems to work very well. Lots of useful AC/AP info as well as some Canadiana.

This is a complete waste of time to even consider...especially around Christmas!!!

This forum will have substantially less value to me without Empress's input!

If someone believes someone needs a timeout, could you just privately email Randy or one of his staff?

This public "caning" is getting very old very quickly... and usually just leads to behaviors that support more people gettin timed-out.

I simply can't believe the recent attacks on Empress - many of which seem to me to be from a lot of folk who make marginal contributions to FlyerTalk.

Empress has probably made the largest single positive contribution to the AC threads of any of us. Let us be good samaratans as we approach another New Year.

On the other hand, I am inclined to believe that he may not be back in 2004, exonerated or not from the attacks he himself has taken from so many of you.

Grow up guys. Empress may have been under a lot of year-end pressures - give him the benefit of the doubt!
