Time out for Parnel Please
In this thread in the OMNI forum, parnel has told a fellow poster to f*ck off.
http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr.../014079-7.html
While I am not a moderator, I do not think it is allowed under the TOS of FT.
Thank you.

Wow, I hadn't checked in on that thread in months, but there are a string of timeouts that could be handed out.
At the very least, can someone please close a thread that has dragged on well past its useful life, as evidenced by outright attacks, invocation of Nazi comparisons, and general name-calling.

I am probably the only human being alive who has friendly relations with both Parnel and MapleLeaf.
Perhaps you two guys need to do a little male bonding at a Habs-Leafs game, over a couple (dozen) Labatts Blues?
I'll gladly pay!

Action has been taken. That is all we'll say about it. Thank you for brining this to our attention. In the future please email one of us to speed matters up a little.

Otto:
I am not even part of the thread, I only posted this here because telling someone to f off is not appropriate, regardless of whether it is on here or someplace else.
As for going to a hockey game for a beer, no thanks - I hate hockey. Always happy to go for a beer someplace else though.

I believe that this should establish, though, that the "solution" to OMNI's problem was never fixed in the first place.

I disagree. Omni has been running very smooth, even better now thanks to the addition of a new moderator - ScottC.

So if parnel is still posting here, then obviously his rights have not been revoked. Does that now mean it is ok to tell someone to f*ck off and not worry about expulsion? Just wanted to be clear on the rules so I know what to face, or not face, should I decide to make some comments of my own down the road.

That said, profanity/name-calling (especially the harsh names you employed) directed towards another member of FT is corrosive to the spirit of community which Randy Peterson has indicated on several occasions that he wishes to build here on his website.
I refrain from doing that - I'm curious why you feel you are exempt from the rules?
Anyway, that's all I'm going to say on this.
