Randy and crew,

Please, we do not want a moderator at BA forum. But I expect some action on matahari.

Thanks in advance,

Toxa

my (oldest) daughter Maria is a proud Kindergarden-teacher.

Please compare posts as the ones quoted with something stupid - not with Kindergarden

It's always sad to see how a single person can kill a thread. I just doubt that there is much which can be done rather than ignoring them.

Rudi is right - that's neither kindergarten language nor behaviour. It's just disgusting.

Just as garbage can be tossed, comments like those examples given above can be removed. Moderation is the key.

FewMiles - You're absolutely right regarding the posts. I tried to make a point regarding the posters - you won't get rid of them, with or without moderators.

Randy and crew,

Another fresh example of what is going on at BA. Please do something fast!

Best regards,

Toxa

Randy,

May I second the request at the start of this thread?

The posts referred to led directly to the starting of a highly OT thread which you, in turn, had to take time and trouble to close.

If appalling comments were not made in the first place, there would not be these out of control threads.

I seriously think the poster in question has 'issues' which need to be resolved outwith Flyertalk.

May I add that, prior to today, Flyertalk, and the BA board in particular, have enriched my appreciation of other travellers and become an enjoyable part of my daily routine.

Thank you.

Alastair

As a not senior but frequent visitor and poster here at FT and not an experienced user of boards and forums I made myself a picture on netiquette and recommended behaviour on places like FT. One big issue was this debate over religious topics and the developing threads out of this here on FT.

I don't think that if you block a user out of FT or take away his rights to post you'll solve a problem. See this kid at coupon connection which came back with several irritating new names and stories, one more disturbishing than the other.

IMHO we just should ignore any posts with flaming, name-calling and other stupid behaviour. If such a post gets no attention, than I think the poster will learn his lesson.

I say instead that moderators can be used. Why just ignore the noise when you can get rid of it completely? Why should the vandal get to leave his graffitti behind? When people see that there is no point in posting inflamatory garbage (because it will be zapped before it can draw someone else into a flame war) then there will be less incentive for these trolls to bother in the first place.
