On one of the Forums (I just cannot find it) you have offered the resources of FT to receive conributions to the American Red Cross for victims of Tuesday's tragedy, a noble act to be sure. Some of us may rather give to a fund that more directly helps the families of police and firemen injured and/or killed.

Would you consider and include such a fund
in this act of human kindness and generosity?
If so, I will gratefully lead the parade with
a one thousand dollar contribution, sent thru
FT, as well as my tax refund check, when and if it arrives. And Mrs. Detroit's, too.

God bless America, God save America, God love America, and dear God, please dry my tears as I with millions of others weep for those left behind who weep in their loss and sorrow.

Nathan, perhaps this web page will be of help as it lists many of the charities that we can make donations to.

http://www.earthlink.net/headlines/worldnews/

I flew home to Manhattan yesterday and the aerial view of the ruins and the smoke coming from what was the WTC broke my heart and brought back the tears to my eyes.

We must all support our president in these troubled times. Buy some shares of stock when the stock market opens on Monday so that those cowardly bast*rds get to see we are prepared to support our economy and great country. Donate money to worthy charities to assist in the recovery process. Pray for all of those souls now in heaven.

We must never forget what happened.

God Bless America!

Randy:

Is there any way to provide us with a "tally" as to how much has been raised for the Red Cross via the FT link? Thanks.

There is a tally on the top of the page that opens in order to donate. Currently, 65 people have donated $7635.

I did this over a week ago and I have received no email confirmation. Have others received confirmation?

There are just so many different collection points. Some may have already acted to donate elsewhere. For example I was very pleased to see that my company immediately offered to match all cash gifts and so doubled any contribution.
