Huge Delta announcement

So Monday is gone. I have not heard anything. What's up?

Randy: Did you see your post growing to 9 pages in one day? I think you now should give us some more information about this huge announcement! Is it the 10.000 free-ticket-promo to NYC?

Someone at the last minute tried to sabotage the announcement and it turned into Tuesday. While the 10,000 free tickets is nice, it was the fact that they have extended the 15,000-mile free domestic awards from Oct. 15 to Nov. 15. That in my mind is big news. We've not ever seen a domestic award at 15,000 miles before and until Nov. 15 is very cool. As you now know, it has caused a ripple effect and now American has matched. While there are some things about SkyMiles members have some concerns about, it's clear they stepped up to the plate here. I just casehd in miles for a few awards at 15,000 miles because the deal is too good to pass up.

You are correct in saying that the 15,000 miles deal is great. Most of us will try to take advantage of it.

Randy, now is the time to pursue the SSM agenda with your contacts at DL. Everyone is looking for the elimination of the LUser fares and the return of the SWU's with a rolling calendar, and DL can't say that their international loads prevent this from happening.

Also aside from the 10,000 free tickets for travel to NYC which was a nice gesture on DL's part, perhaps you could suggest to DL that they do a promo for NYC residents to fly out of LGA, JFK & EWR. Many of us are still shell shocked from the attack and aren't rushing to get on a plane.
