A Forum for Converting Miles
I'd like to see a forum which can tell people how to convert miles from one program to another. I have several thousand miles/points on various FF/hotel/casino/etc. programs that will never amount to anything by themselves, but if combined would be worth a ticket (assuming a 1:1 swap - not likely).

cubsfan10,
That would be a very small forum, indeed.
Currently there are several major programs that allow some form of conversion or transfer of points/miles: Hilton HHonors, Amex Membership Rewards and Diners Club.
Your question has been answered many, many times in the three years of FT's existence. Try doing a search of MilesBuzz for starters, and then search the Hilton, Amercian Express and Diners Club forums for the basics. After that, just post a question about specifics that haven't yet been answered.
If you need help using the search function, email me privately.

I agree with essxjay, though on the topic of "Search" it seems to be inadequate and buggy. Several bug reports have been filed under "Technical Problems" and these are still not fixed. A MilesBuzz search only shows a small number of articles. If you do an exact name search for "Punki" in MilesBuzz it returns 2 threads from 1999 (I know Punki has posted far more than that).
The larger FT grows, the worse the search problem will be. Maybe what we need is a list of interesting threads indexed by some useful keywords.

I agree that a "forum" is probably the wrong vehicle. What I'd really like to see are two conversion charts, one with "to" miles/points (what can I convert to AA, for instance) and one with "from" miles/points (ex. what can I do with Radisson Gold Rewards). If I were to look on a "to" chart and saw there was a way to convert JAL miles to AA, I'd go to the JAL website and sign up just for the signing bonus (if there is one). I'd even go to the Flintstones website and sign up with Pterodactyl Airlines if I could get miles I could use.
A lot of you old-time FTers probably know this stuff in your sleep. I'm new to FT - two months ago I thought getting miles on my Citibank card was a big deal; now I know there's a whole lot of other ways to use the miles/points I already have (or can easily get). I'd just to see those ways put down in one place.

cubsfan10 got some pretty good response here.
Additionally, I'm not sure it's really up to Randy Peterson to post a super-chart of all the ways for miles to go from one place to another. All of that information is here on these boards that he has provided. It's up to us to do the work to find the information. Please, let's not burden Randy with one more "should."

Thanks for the link.
I was not asking Randy to do this, I would like to know where one is if it is already available.
I would like to thank Randy Peterson for starting these boards though

It's not a bad idea in that the info should be easily retrivable, especially for any "newbies." An new index function which highlights the words where they appear in a thread or just a fixed/enhanced SEARCH function would prove extremely useful to many I'm sure! A priority?

Yeah, points.com seems like a major rip-off. I asked it what 5000 Alaska miles would convert to on AA & it was something like 417.
Booo !
Booo !
