Question for Amex Chat Tonight

Hi Randy,

Sorry to hear that you are serving a 'time out'. Bad boy, bad boy. However, like most people who have been locked out, I assume you are probably still lurking. <G>

I was hoping that you would ask a specific question of the representative from Amex. There is a potential problem that I and some others here may be facing. Amex had a promotion last fall where new SkyMile card holders could earn up to 50,000 SkyMiles. The qualifying period has ended and the miles are starting to show up in some members accounts. Unfortunately, I and some others have not received letters from Amex noting that we have qualified (and need to send a FF statement) so that we might get our miles. Time is slipping by and we only have 4 weeks left (9/15) to get the letters from Amex and turn them around back to Amex to get our miles.

Could you please ask about this? I would hate to let 50,000 miles 'slip through the crack'. I won't be able to attend the chat and have posted a question in the chat area. Below is the text of question that I left

Unfortunately, I will not be able to
attend tonight's chat because of
business commitments.

I would like to ask a question of
Susan Sobbott from American
Express.

As with several other FT members,
I applied for and obtained a Delta
SkyMiles Credit Card from American
Express because of the "Double
Your Frequent Flyer Mileage"
promotion. This promotion awarded
card holders 50,000 miles if they
met certain conditions. I met
these conditions several months
ago, but never received a letter
from American Express confirming
this and asking for me send to my
Frequent Flyer statement to Amex.
Almost all others on FT who
obtained the Skymiles card for
this promotion have received
letters from Amex and are starting
to actually receive the promised
miles.

I am starting to worry about the
possibility that I might not receive
the promised miles. I spoke with a
supervisor at SkyMiles customer
service who said they would have
the marketing area send me the
letter. This did not happen. I
contacted the same supervisor
again who then simply suggested
that I simply mail a letter to
SkyMiles with the pertinent
information and that I would then
received the promised miles.
Frankly, I am doubtful of this. What
should I do? Should I send a letter
to Skymiles? If so, should it go to
a particular person? Is there a
contact phone number for this?
