Randy,
Please see my post on United. I think this is more along your line of interest. I don't want to encroach on any proprietary issues with your BB.

If it's about pins, I think the answer is in the thread link. We have for some time had pins, caps and t-shirts available to visitors of the board and I do know that they were rather handy spotting each other during the LatinPass mileage runs. Also, I've been approached a few times already when someone on the board noticed my FT luggage tag - one time at the MSP airport. Pins are cool, thuogh I may have something rather unique for all you United folks for a special pin. Let me post something on Friday once back in the office. I believe I have a box of "Special Miles" United Mileage Plus pins, though I must think of a way to have you earn them. Any ideas anyone?

The pins are too inconspicuous (should I say, "subtle?") for effective spotting. The luggage tags work for me (although, as I've discovered and others have pointed out, they crack rather easily).

I think pins are a great idea -- even better than luggage tags. After all, what if you check your luggage through. Then, the only good they may do is prevent your bags from getting the Northwest MSP "basketball" treatment -- assuming your baggage handler is a fan of Flyertalk!
I'm trying to think of a good way to earn them that would, of course, favor my chances. How about the best letter from one's spouse, friend, loved one, etc. who thinks they are crazy for going on multiple mileage runs. My wife could write a good one.

Why not a pin and/or luggage tag with the flyertalk emblem on it, AND your airline of choice symbol displayed in a corner. Yes, they might cost a bit more, but....

Had a FT pin on in the VARIG lounge at Sao Paulo Brazil last week and one of our colleagues was one of the other 2 guests in the lounge and we had a great chat. The plastic bag tags as have been raised before in this thread and another last year are pretty hopeless and smash fast. (But design is quite good.) Randy or staff surely has contacts as to where the airline flyer schemes get their higher quality ones made? Even if they cost double I'd use them if more robust.

Found the (meandering!) thread from last year about baggage tags:
