My original post was never intended to hurt or harm but to heal, to cleanse what was clearly a situation that was out of control. And it appears to have done just that; ozstamps postings, many with an incredible amount of valuable information have become that: useful, valuable. If those of you who have so roundly criticized me will read again my post, I doubt that you can find any personal insult or injury in it and I made it clear that it was not intended to be that.
Sometimes a purgative provokes an almost violent reaction before it cleanses a system.
It has done so here. And I, for one, commend ozstamps for his new tone as I once commended doc for his renewal and most enthusiastically endorse those who have called for a return to travel talk and only travel talk on the public part of this community.

It hasn't been pretty and it hasn't been pleasant but it seems to have worked. And let us all fervently hope that it wont happen again; it wont if the talk sticks to travel
and personal comments are email.

Please, no responses to this. No happy or ugly faces. I've had my say, now let it die.

I whole-heartedly agree. There has been a transformation over the past few days. It is definitely a friendlier atmosphere now.

I re-read the original post. I fail to see how there is no personal insult. If you do not see that simply interchange "ozstamps" with "Catman" in that post and read it. Also the post assumes that this is Catman's land or turf. It is not. It is a forum for all posters. Also the post assumes that N.D. is speaking for all of us. N.D. is not speaking for me.

The sad part is that N.D. still stands by what he said and claims that that post cleansed.

Perhaps we can ALL ignore the "unclean" when "we" see it and simply be responsible for cleaning ourselves!

"We" are ALL entitled to our opinions as is ND, but be need not post all of 'em, nor need "we" try to impose them upon others!

ND believes that all of you are correct in what you have said. No insult and no "flame war" was intended. What was intended was a catalyst, a start, leading to an end to what everyone seems to agree has been a deterioration here.
That has clearly been the result, admitedly with some discomfort, some pain, to some. But the result, the end result as of today, has been positive for the most part.

ND concedes that his phrasing may have been a mistake and to those who feel offended or injured by it, apology is open and on the table. ND has learned that moral philosophy has no place here. Travel information is what this place is all about. And by gum, ND will, repeat will, bear that in mind when and if he ever has anything to say here. You can bet the farm on it! And this truly is the end, which should bring joy to many. But please accord ND one last favor: no resposnses; let it go now. What ever good can or could come from it has happened; anything more will just be mischief and harmful.

This whole 2 thread posting seems incredibly hostile to me I am afraid, and rather one sided. Make wild allegations, do not withdraw them if wrong and unsubstantiated, and the posters vanish leaving others to clean up the mess.

Talking travel seems to be a VERY good idea.
