search functionality

I feel like I'm way too green to post here but...
When I've been looking for very specific thread topics or even try to search within a forum for a post I previously read the search results are mediocre much of the time.

When I go to google.com (not promoting or anything) and search there I often get more relevant hits to flyertalk postings. Is it possible to incorporate a google search feature?

Thanks

No worries. This past 1-1 1/2 years have been a struggle with the search function as Internet Brands wrestled with it.

As noted by another member, that is a very comprehensive guide to using search on FlyerTalk and it also includes this link to Google within FlyerTalk:
http://www.flyertalk.com/google_search.php

Hope this helps and actually commend you for asking as I'm sure your question will help many others who likely have the same question.

Thanks for the reply.

I will definitively scour that link to learn all the search tools.

I also wanted to say that this site seriously rocks. After reading the control the mods have and the oversight (review capabilities) you have over the mods' actions I was blown away.

I know FF stuff is your specialty but I think you need to franchise the biz model of this site for other topics. For instance, as a Camry owner () I try to get good info on recall stuff, things like turning off annoying beep reminders, etc... The sites lack effective oversight. You seem to have found a great balance. The web would be a far better place if your methods were incorporated.
