vayama.com

I stumbled onto this site and booked an international flight for the first time here. What stands out is the facility of use. Try it--the website is mighty smooth.

Where are the First Class deals

I took a look at this after browsing the Online agency forum, and though the navigation seems to be easy the deals don't appear to be anything special. For example, I did a search on 'ALL FIRST CLASS SPECIALS' any the only thing that came up to any destination was Air India between Los Angeles and Frankfurt...Sorry, but I don't consider Air India to be a deal even if it was a gift

Are there any other suggestions here for specialists in international first class travel?

First Clas Deals

I have tried both Access and 1stair.net . I know there are a wide range of experiences here for at least one of these two, but over the past two years I have taken about 10 international trips and all have worked out well . There may have been a glitch here or there but nothing that was not correctable with a phone call or e-mail....

I used Access to Dubai and I have used 1stair.net to Australia and Hong Kong as they seem to be able to offer special incentives that I can not get on my own..

I have never used or heard of vayama.com until this post appears

Vayama.com shows you the fare rules for the flights you are selecting which would allow you to verify the itinerary you are booking using Expertflyer or something comparable. Looking back at the 1stair.net experiences here on FT it seems like a crap-shoot on what you're going to get for your money.

Crap Shoot???

Lucky I am a betting man (within limits) but never thought wagering would come down to plane tickets, but why not I suppose

I haven't gotten around to contacting either company the other FT'er suggest yet and am still doing some homework, but I plan too.

I also came accross a post today of some upgrade program with CX at the airport for $1,700 and am waiting for feedback on that as well....

I have read some of the reports listed here on the 1stairfare company mentioned, but other than a couple of references most of the bad experiences seemed quite old. I just had a bad experience myself with Emirates that I am not through with yet (see my posts under Emirates), but want to be sure that the product and deals are real...

Any other thoughts out there????/

Thumbs down Vayama experience - not happy.

I booked a RT SOF-EWR tixs with them and was initially pleased with the service.

The website appeared very informative when I purchased 2 tixs at the lowest price available at that time (12/07)(price was $10-15 cheaper).

I was not happy with their seat selection option. A cute little pop up shows the seat map for each long haul flight. You click on the seats you want and your done. However, the seat map is not even close to accurate with what is actually available at the airline. All the time they are giving you the impression that you are selecting your actual seats.

It was a great disappointed to learn that it is only a request that Vayama submits to the airline. Now I have really krappy seats on the two long haul flights and would have preffered to pay a reasonable higher price to an airline and pick the seating I wanted.

I did write them several times and they said customer service would respond but no one answered me.

I will not use them again.

It's not that big of a deal but, I would have liked to have been better informed on what my options were.

I don't think I will use them again.
