Priceline selling coach as first class - what to do?

I bought a ticket with Priceline to fly between the US and Brazil with Delta and Gol (all flights marketed by Gol) and they were marketed as First Class all along the booking process. I quickly booked it since the price was really good (and I have booked similarly priced J tickets like this before) but then I went to Delta.com to select seats and saw that this was in fact a coach ticket.

So I went digging around a bit and discovered that my ticket is all on F class (even the Brazil domestic segments) which for Delta is Gol's Deep Discount Economy (as per https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...-partners.html)

OK, so that kinda explains it, but I'm still pissed at Priceline for advertising first class and delivering coach. Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there anything I can do other than suck it up and either rough it in coach or ask for a refund?

Thanks.

It sounds like you were hoping that this was a mistake fare. However, DL doesn't even operate a first class cabin on any longhaul flights, so this fact should have made you very suspicious. For domestic flights within Brazil, GOL does something like Y+ but again there's nothing that could be called a first class cabin. No one can give you FC on flights or routes that don't offer FC.

Ask for cancel/full refund stating that you didn't get what you booked.

And if they refuse, go to your credit card company and dispute the charge with their fraud dept.

That’s really just marketing semantics though - someone not especially familiar with each specific airline’s level of service would look at the overseas lie-flat seats and call that first class, and assume that was being referred to when being sold a “first class” ticket for that flight. If Priceline mistakenly interpreted fare code F as first class when it wasn’t, then I’d definitely complain to them about it, because this will surely happen again to someone else.
boxo and POAflyer like this.
