Is this a DONE3 or DONE4?
I'm trying to get a quote for the below routing but no-one at CX/AA seems to be able to give me a straight answer if this is a DONE3 or DONE4 tix.
ICN-NRT-(MEX)-SCL-IPC-SCL-GIG-SCL-MAD-DME//SVO-HEL-ICN
The issue I am having is NRT-(MEX)-SCL leg where MEX is only a transit stop between the JL/LA flights. Hope someone could clear this up for me as the price difference between DONE3/DONE4 is rather large.
Thanks,
chilledflyer

Touch it and pay!
MEX is N/A, so you have Asia-N/A-S/A-Eur-Asia
So it's a DONE4.
FWIW, there are no xONE3 fares published for S/A, Africa or SWP origins as no defined routing avoids any of N/A, Europe or Asia.
Even possible exceptions are excluded, for example direct travel between ORD and DEL is specifically noted in the rules as effectively touching Europe.

The "touch it/count it" rule has even been clarified to mention JL's NRT-GRU through flight.
(j) Travel between Australia and Europe on a single flight number is considered travelling SW Pacific-Asia-Europe through three continents.
Travel between Japan and Brazil on a single flight number is considered travelling Asia-North America-South America through three continents
