Maximum stay rule - *ONE

Anybody had any interpretations of the max stay rule by AA
- Is it done to the day or to the hour?
- How well do agents know the rules?

Rule is:
7. MAXIMUM STAY
Return travel from the last stopover point must commence no later than 12 months after departure.

My first segment on the ticket departed at 0125 on say 2-Oct-08 from KHI

Ideally I would like my last segment to be (given the non-daily services)
HKG-KHI 2-Oct-09 departing 1715 (ie 12 months to the days, but actually 17 hours after my initial departure)

Note that HKG is actually an <24hr transit. The preceding flight I would like to take is
DEL-HKG 1-Oct-09 departing 2345 (ie ok by 2 hours if the last stopover is read as a stopover and excludes transits)

To the day. Not the hour.
