Best OW progam for getting free flights
I'm helping my friend's colleagues to maximise their travel rewards. They will be looking to join a OW program that has the best redemption rates. Most of their travel will be booked in cheap Y.
One other issue is there is a mixture of Uk/Europe based people, US based people and Canadian based people. Each group are primarily doing regional flights (e.g US People would flight a lot on AA), but there will be occasional international long haul flights in Y.
I've got Star Alliance sorted, can anyone help for One World?

If you travel in discounted economy and want award flights then the best program for you will be AA. The only problem I can see is that you will not earn ANY miles on BA operated flights between the US and the UK. So make sure they always book other carriers TATL.
AA has a great earn/burn ratio, low taxes and fees and does not enforce the 4 segments rule in case one of your friends will fly enough to get status.
