Hi gcd123

I don't believe this is a valid itinerary as it doesn't seem to go around the world... that is there is no continuous forward flight around the globe (I was looking in your itinerary for a flight to north or south america).

Rather you have gone from Europe, to Asia to Australia and then backtracked to Africa (instead of going in one fwd direction).

The advantage of going via the USA is that you can fly first class on AA, which gets lots of SCs very quickly. Even if you don't need them for plat in one year they do count towards lifetime gold (if you don't already have that).

Regards

Yep, xONEx need to route though each of TC1 (Americas), TC2 (Europe/Middles East/Africa) and TC3(Asia, SW Pacific).

You will need to visit either North or South America before it even starts to become valid.

I think that you meant to indicate that you are planning a DONEWC4 trip.

A DONE4 is an ATW trip, whereas a DONEWC4 is a four-continent circle trip, i.e. Africa - Europe - Asia - SWP - Africa.

Yes, exactly right. Thanks for the correct terminology. This is the Circle Explorer fare that must go via Africa.

Apologies to gcd123. For a circle explorer I think the itinerary is valid ^.

It's a pity that there is no double mileage bonus for all the flights within Asia but that can't be helped. The only other suggestion I could think of to also get more miles would be to take QF out of BOM (into Syd) - would mean juggling the flights something like SIN-NRT-BOM, with the NRT-BOM being two flight numbers either via BKK or HKG.

Or, in July QF will be flying exBOM to SYD via SIN, QF52 which is available as the single sector. Could then connect to Per. Again would need to juggle your Asia sectors. I'm not sure exactly how many SCs you need.

DEL-NRT-PER is longer than DEL-HKG-PER
Probably you choose DEL-HKG-PER because of scheduling or connection ?
Just an info.
Also NRT-SYD is available.

Note that on a *ONEWC* there is no rule restricting trans-cons in Australia
So if you fly into SYD from Asia, then your 4 SWP segments could be something like SYD-PER-SYD-BME-SYD - i.e two Aussie holidays
(note "The same city pairs/sectors cannot be flown more than once in the same direction" and this only works for SYD as you need to leave from there for JNB and to do it from anywhere else, such as MEL, would require a 5th SWP segment to get from MEL to SYD for the JNB flight)
