KUL-SYD: SQ, BA, or QF?
I'm looking at return flights for my upcoming honeymoon and can't decide on one section, KUL-SYD. Here are the options I've found so far
1) KUL-SIN on JL, overnight in SIN and connect to QF to SYD on 380.
2) KUL-SIN on MH or SQ and connect to QF code on BA metal 777.
3) KUL-SIN-SYD all on SQ with SIN-SYD on 380.
These flights would be in J. I'm an AA Plat and soon-to-be Mrs. Skunker (yikes!
) is an AA Gold and neither have status with *A. Option 1 would give the most miles, but what about other factors? All seats are fully flat. Options 2 and 3 eliminate overnight in SIN. Option 1 is a day flight, other two are night flights.
I care more about food and drink, future Mrs. Skunker cares more about little things like PJs and duvets and usually just sleeps the entire flight. So, who is better on this route: SQ, BA, or QF?

Congrats on upcoming marriage!
All alternatives are good. My suggestion would be # 1. Besides mileage with JL, the possibility to overnight in SIN means you can care for yor wife's desire for duvets etc by hotel pampering , leaving you to enjoy the service of QF on a dayflight, and aircraft beeing 380
Another alternative is an early afternoon CX-HKG flight, a visit to one of the excellent CX lounges before an evening/overnight CX or QF flights HKG-SYD

JL to SIN and then QF down to SYD on the A380 would be my first pick.
Do check with CX as they have recently had some very competitive J class fares from Asia to Australia. Going KUL-HKG-SYD is doing it the long way round, but it would be a perfectly comfortable way of doing it, and I wouldn't hesitate that option if it cost less than the JL/QF routing.

Thanks. I'm shocked that neither suggested the SQ 380. The backtrack to HKG doesn't seem worth it. I've read the new CX J seat isn't as good as the old J, which I liked. And QF only runs their old J out of HKG.

Now, if you already decided to go SQ, hence beeing shocked others didn't agree on this third alternative on your priority list, why bother to raise the question at all?

Are you having a bad day? First, thanks again for your input. Second, I never said the options were in order of preference. Finally, the reason I am shocked is because of the outstanding rep of SQ could sway me to try their product if it is superior to BA or QF. I know this is a OW board but I'm fairly certain people here have tried SQ. You yourself have both OW and *A in your profile.
Thanks again, and have a nice day.

Terribly sorry, beeing a new member to FT, but I sort of agree to posters trying to help you out. Your first post said nothing about "the outstanding rep of SQ".
Also you specificly stated "neither have status with *A"
Complaining about the posters not agreeing on your hidden agenda, beeing shocked none knew anything about what you didn't tell in the first place seems very pretentious.
