LONE4 quick question
Hi there,
I'm planning the following trip. What I'm confused about is why the online booking tool I cannot search SEA-LAX flights, I checked the AA website and it does offer flights and I'd prefer to incorporate it in the RTW ticket rather than buy a seperate ticket.
LHR-MIA-SXM-NYC-YUL-ORD-SEA, LAX-SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD-NRT-PEK-LHR
Also, does it make sense to join the Qantas FF club due to the number of flights I'll be taking, I'm not too sure how the AA, JAL & BA legs affect the points earning as I'm only taking the LAX-SYD, domestic flights & SYD-NRT flights with Qantas. I'm currently in London but I'm based in Sydney so I think the Qantas FF makes sense.

Ah, stupid AA screwing me around. Thanks for your help.
Qantas screws me too because I can't get to TSV direct from SYD on Jetstar, so have to fly Qantas via BNE. so annoying.
I don't think the mileage based option makes sense for me since it's total around 32k miles, which falls into the tier 3 xGLOBxx option which is much more than the LONE4.

As Kiwi Flyer said, you are trying to book a codeshare flight operated by a non-OW airline and this is possible only on the Global Explorer ticket (with restrictions), unfortunately not on the OW Explorer (xONEx).
In a xONEx, you can only include flights that are marketed AND operated by OW carriers. This means that you must book a flight under the code of a OW carrier and that this same service must be flown by an aircraft belonging to a OW carrier (operating carrier and marketing carrier may be different only if both are OW members).
The SEA-LAX flight you are looking for is marketed by AA, but operated by Alaska Airlines (AS), which is not a OW member. Hence it is not eligible for xONEx tickets. Same about the other Qantas (OW)/Jetstar (non-OW) flight.
The only codeshares possible under xONEx are those between OW carriers. You may book, for example, an Iberia flight from Miami to Madrid, even if the plane operating the service belongs to AA. Or a AA flight from NY to Hong Kong, a service actually operated by Cathay Pacific.

Heya,
I'm a QFF and recently looked into the points.
Basically, _most_ of the time you get full milage points and status credits with all the OW fliers.
There is a table on the qantas site under the frequent flyer section on earning points that details all the flights where the earning is less then full.
As you go up the statuses, you start earning bonus points, i.e. i get 100% extra points on flights. These bonuses, however, only count for AA, BA, and QF flights. (one of those three must be on the ticket, which i think/hope means codeshares are ok)
I found 2 return business trips between syd and london with a couple of extra domestic flights got me from nothing to platinum (ow emerald). This is pretty handy for using the 1st class lounges (syd one has free massages) and 1st checkin.
