Best Beijing OW Lounge
{I'm breaking this out from the other thread I posted it in as I suspect it may have been lost in the title. Apologies to those re-reading it.}
I'm OW Emerald, travelling Y with son 1. Mrs paul4471 and son 2 are no status but travelling J.
We have a 14:00 departure from PEK to KIX on 30 Jan and having never been there I'm keen to find out about best OW lounge choice in Beijing. Someone mentioned the AY lounge was good - looking at the AY schedule it doesn't appear they have a flight that day - do they own their lounge (and hence likely to be closed) at PEK or is it shared?
Would appreciate regulars feedback on which lounge would be best choice as OW emerald in PEK?
I believe as we are on JAL we will travel from Terminal 3 - the JAL sitye seems (very confusing FF tiers) to indicate we can use the Air China (*A) First class lounge - anyone experienced it? Very limited and mixed reviews on the * site.
Thanks again, paul4471

T3 in Beijing isn't lounge heaven. The Air China lounge is used by a number of airlines, including OW (JAL, BA, FIN I think). There's a Cathay/Dragon Air lounge that isn't all that great. Qantas uses the BSG operated lounge and is also only ordinary.
I might be mistaken, but basically I think the only OW operated lounge is the CX lounge. Otherwise, you will be limited to the lounge invitation provided at check in.

That was my first segment home after the Olympics on a business class award and I was given an invitation from JAL for the Air China First Class lounge. Photos linked below. Nothing special in terms of food--think I had some pound cake.

Thanks for the prompt replies - looks like it'll be the Air China lounge for me.
Might wander over to the CX lounge as well if we have time to kill.

The CA lounge is a third party lounge. Your accessibility is determined by the airline you are flying on. Are you flying JL?
