Question RTW - Minimum stopovers?

I searched, but couldn't find anything. However, I seem to remember seeing something somewhere about a RTW ticket requiring a minimum of 3 stopovers. Is there a required minimum for OneWorld, or am I thinking of another alliance?

I'm not aware of a minimum number of stopovers (at least for a oneworld Explorer), though there's a maximum of 2 in the continent of origin. There's a minimum of 3 segments required. You also can't return to the point of origin within 10 days but that obviously doesn't directly affect the number of stopovers.

There is no minimum stopover requirement on a xONEx. However, for most tickets there is a 10 day minimum rule (with exceptions for D/A departures from the SW Pacific).

The Global Explorer, a mileage based rtw ticket offered by Oneworld members, requires a minimum of three stopovers and provides for a maximum amount of stopovers.
Code:
Flights and stopovers
There are limits on the number of stopovers you may take:
Fare Tier Stopovers permitted

Tier 1 Minimum of 3, maximum of 5 stopovers, with no more than 2 within any region.

Tier 2 Minimum of 3, maximum of 10 stopovers, with no more than 3 within any region.

Tier 3 and Tier 4 Minimum of 3, maximum of 15 stopovers, with no more than 4 within any region

All tiers A maximum of two stopovers is permitted in your region of origin. These are included in the above maximum stopover limits

The Oneworld Explorer Rules do not provide a for a minimum number of stopovers.

This , to me, is the one of the advantages of the OWE versus the STAR alliance RTW... I can use the NO minimum stopover to do a RTW for a lot less cost than a first or business class tic....
