Award Availability on One World/JAL and CX using AA miles

I have American Airlines miles and want to redeem miles for a One World/AA ticket from Washington DC (IAD/DCA) to Manila (MNL) and/or Bangkok (BKK) in Economy with the lowest possible miles (70,000), Economy MileSAAver.

Basically, the routing is IAD/DCA to DFW (or ORD) to NRT (Narita Tokyo) on AA and then Japan Airlines to Manila. Or I can go IAD to LAX on AA, then Cathay Pacific (CX) to HKG to MNL. My alternate destination is Bangkok (BKK), preferably with an open jaw. Arrive and depart from BKK and MNL.

My goal is a low mileage ticket from Washington DC to Manila and/or BKK, any routing will do.

Dates - I take this trip every few months, but I was really looking for 1/30/09 to 2/15/09.

I want to search award ticket availability on JAL from NRT to MNL. KVS Tool www.kvstool.com does not track JAL flights. Does anyone know how to check CX and JAL award inventory?

Get a BA account and use it to check award availability on JL and CX. It's reasonably accurate.

I've always found JAL's own tool to line up 1:1 with AA award availability, so you may just want to sign up for a JAL account. At least you can look at multiple days at a time, then.

Agreed. In my experience, BA doesn't do a good job on trans-pac JAL flights.
