We have just commenced a RTW AONE5 in ARN. As a number of the legs are business as F is not available (including the first leg ARN-LHR) are we still entitled to use the relevant F lounges?

For example, the lounge in this terminal is Finnair, should we be able to use the platinum lounge, as well as the connected business lounge?

You are entitled to use the lounges based on class of travel that you are actually flying, so if flying business class, then business lounge entitlement

The oneWorld policy states:

Lounge Access by Class of Travel

Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. (First Class passengers may be accompanied by one guest travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline).

Customers flying in Economy class on the domestic or intra-European segment to connect to or from a oneworld longhaul First or Business Class flight can also use the lounge applicable to the class in which they are travelling the longhaul segment.

In theory, therefore, you should be admitted to the Platinum Lounge if your next flight out of LHR is longhaul (& in First, which seems likely ). There could be some argument against this if you're stopping over in London, on the basis that you're not 'connecting'.

Strangely, lounge dragons are frequently unaware of the finer points of the oneWorld rules, so it's not a bad idea to print out the policy & carry it with you. (If you're in AAdvantage, you should also check the footnote to the policy.)

Should this rule not apply, I'm sure, as Dave Noble says, you're not entitled, as you're not actually travelling in First. Unless you're easily offended by refusals, it's still worth asking, on the basis of the AONE5 ticket.
