Multiple visits to Europe
We're planning to start xONE from JNB and I've been playing with the ideas for the route. The 16-segment limit doesn't make life any easier.
What was the deal with the visits to/through LHR?
Mileage Monkey seems to accept something like JNB-MRU-LHR-ARN-LHR-DFW-HNL-NRT-HKG-AKL-SYD-LHR-CDG-LHR-NBO. Can I really stop in Europe on both the way out and to Africa? If I'd remove the ARN and CDG, would we still be able stop in LHR or is one of them just a transit? Any problems with the SYD-LHR?
I know I've seen the Ghana/Nigeria/Kenya/Uganda/Tanzania transit rule mentioned several times here but I just cannot find any threads when I'd need the info..

Only one intercontinental departure and one intercontinental arrival permitted in each continent except
as follows:.....
3. For travel to/from or via Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania two permitted in Europe
when one is a transfer without stopover between Ghana/Nigeria/ Kenya/Uganda/Tanzania and another continent.

JNB-MRU-xLHR-ARN-xLHR-CDG-xLHR-DFW-HNL-NRT-HKG-AKL-SYD-xLHR-NBO
(ARN to CDG could also be done as ARN-HEL-CDG or ARN-BUD-CDG, which would avoid o/ding on T5.
)It was already a xONE5 as the OP is passing through NRT & HKG. In fact, the itin. is only valid by going directly from SYD to LHR. Any further stops in Asia on the way wouldn't be permitted, as they would break the "no 2nd entry to Asia" principle.

Ok, thank you. So the problem with the original itinenary (JNB-MRU-LHR-ARN-LHR-DFW-HNL-NRT-HKG-AKL-SYD-LHR-CDG-LHR-NBO) is that the tail -LHR-CDG-LHR-NBO is possible only with just transits in Europe.
Mileage Monkey didn't make a difference between stopovers and transits so I was puzzled if one can really do the EUR stopovers in two parts..
Yes, this was a xONE5. I was just puzzled how much one could put to the EUR at both the beginning and the end. Even something like JNB-MRU-LHR-ARN,HEL-LHR-LAX-NRT-HKG-SYD-LHR-CAI,DXB-LHR-NBO was valid by MileageMonkey. I wonder if that'd be bookable, though..

The airlines have been consistently turning down "free second entry" itineraries that involve more than one landing/takeoff, e.g. HKG-SYD-AKL-xHKG-xSIN-LHR or LHR-xJFK-xDFW-SCL-MIA-JFK-LAX-NRT etc.

hi everyone!
i am in a similar situation concerning the second entry to asia rule.my LONE 4 rtw is not fully planned yet but i might wanna do the following:
lhr-syd-akl-bne-sin-hkg-pvg-nrt-hnl...some US stops and back to lhr.
there is a direct lhr-syd 4 times a day on one single flight number.obviously they stop for fuel in bkk or sin but would my routing be valid then if i went through asia already on that stop(though i mught not even leave the plane there) and go there again for some "real flights" after australia?
