The changes to the QF FF program just opened up 'AnySeat' ticketing for QF FF members (at more expensive redemption rates that are essentialy 1pt/$ ticket value).
They have not changed the Classic program nor apparently the Classic seat availability which is where other OW members programs get their seat availability from.

For anyone thinking "what is he talking about?", go to
http://www.qff.com.au/
and look at the example of someone booking an "Any Seat Award". It's Ms. CL Fides, who's Chairman's Lounge (QF's invitation-only level, which of course she would be with those initials) and who has 48,932,701 points ... and she's booking a premium economy ticket!
Apart from the ludicrous number of points needed for many long-haul F or J tickets, the fact that the points required is some weird number (obviously tied to the cash price) is just daft. If you're going to charge 1,521,416 points for a J ticket to LA, you'd think they could at least manage to round it to the nearest 1,000 points (or, better yet, 5,000 points). However, daft as that is, having as an example someone who has 48 million points (and is booking premium economy) has to be even dafter .... or perhaps just someone's attempt at humour. Heaven knows, QFF members need a bit of comic relief after these changes.
