OW query?

Hi

A friend of mine is doing a RTW in Sept , but is concerned that One World may not be the best way to go , where I think it is . He wants to fly lhr-gig- then surface to Scl after Scl he wants to fly into Australia , but not stay , and then fly straight to Bangkok- then to Hanoi and laos, then somehow he wants to fly back to Australia , then fly back to LHR, but the main problem is can he fly back to Australia from say HKG, because he did not stay in Australia first time round , I am sorry in advance if this is confusing , but I am sure there are some people whoo will understand my query

As always thanks in advance for any help

kind regards ELO

Hi ELO, long time no see.

No, he cannot backtrack into SWP. There are other ways to visit all those places (except Laos) on a oneworld explorer, or global explorer, but not in the order he wants to do it.

Hi Viajero
Yes it has been a while , hope you are keeping well
I appreciate your quick response , . Will he be able to do this LHR-SCL,GIG-LAX-HANOI or bangkok- hanoi-bangkok-lhr , if not which would be the best way to incorporate all the above , as an example if not LAX , can he go via JFK etc.

kind regards

There are countless ways to do this. Here is just one (not optimized):

LHR-GIG//SCL-JFK-NRT-HAN-NRT-BKK-HKG-SYD-LHR

Transiting the SWP from South America en route to Asia is not allowed; if he wants to go via North America he will have to add NA to his continent list if it isn't already.

I had a friend in the U.K. with a similar trip...This is what he did

A) Flew STN JFK-STN with AA where fares are cheap

B) Started a Circle Pacific in JFK and went JFK South America-Australia-Asia-JFK and it was less for two reasons

THE Circle Pacific is less than the RTW
The Circle Pacific starting in the U.S. was priced in USD which is way lower than the Euro and certainly lower than the GBP fare
