Circle Pacific - Hawaii

Starting in Sydney, looking to travel to Hawaii in business.

Could I make this a circle pacific fare by adding on an asian destination on the way home, EG Hong Kong? Or do I have to go to mainland US to make this a valid routing?

Actually this is a really good question because in the past if you goto HNL you will definitely have to goto Mainland US to go anywhere on the Oneworld products.

However given JL is now Oneworld you can do the following:

SYD-HNL-NRT-HKG-SYD on the circle pacific.

However do note that HNL routes have the crappy seats on QF and JL. Also does QF still fly there or they changed it to JQ?

QF3 still operates SYD-HNL on Mo/We/Fr. The other option would be syd-lax-hnl-nrt-hkg-syd, which would give you good seats syd-lax on QF and lie-flat seats on AA LAX-HNL (if you fly a 763).
