Route Check Please

Hi, Just wondering if you guys can have alook at this and let me know if this is a valid DONE4?

CAI-LHR-SIN-PER-SYD-HKG-NRT-DFW-LAX-DFW-JFK-YHZ-JFK-LHR-AMM-KRT-AMM

Suggestions on who/how to get an AA ticket in Cairo much appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

The itinerary looks valid to me. In the days when CAI was a popular (cheaper) origin the agent of choice was Emeco, AA's GSA there. I don't know if they are currently the same or not but in any case these are the details as posted on aa.com:

http://www.aa.com/content/aboutUs/wh...ts/egypt.jhtml

If Emeco are still the agents I suggest you do a search for them in this forum; there is a ton of posts about them.

COMPLICATIONS - Your Thoughts?

Well ,when I went to ticket this in CAI it all went bad.

The two transit points in Asia was disallowed (see other post), but more concerning the Dublin desk would not allow me to end in AMM after having commenced in CAI. I managed to get them to recognise the exception that allows for ending in two different cities in Middle East but she indicated that this meant they treated CAI & AMM as the same place? and therefore I was transiting the origin city more than allowed? (said I couldn't have it both ways!)

My DONE4 has ended up like this:

CAI-xLHR-xHKG-PER-HKG-NRT-LAX-DFW-JFK-YHZ-JFK-xLHR-xAMM-KRT-xAMM-CAI

I had to pay $400US for AMM-CAI as an additional segment and yet I will not be using it as I have another flight out AMM back to BKK. I also had to book KRT-xAMM-CAI as a transfer to avoid a stopover there and so will have to convince the check in staff in KRT not to send my bags through to CAI as I intend to ditch the final sector. Does anyone have any experience of what happens if you no show for the final leg of a xONEx. The CSA said there was no problem with this???

Trully a bizarre situation and not happy about paying an extra $400US

Er, the rules forbid buying additional segments in the continent of origin, so this really is very bizarre.

??

Yeah you know that's what I thought as well and queried it with the CSA. I can't really understand this at all but they have ticketed it and taken my money so I'm guesing I'm safe but it is for this reason that I am really very reluctant to kick up a stink with AA about it. If they don't allow the extra segment purchase and they won't allow me to finish it in AMM it really screws me up and means buying a AMM-KRT-AMM separately at about $900.
