Iberia will begin to fly to Delhi in Jan 2009 bringing the total to 7 OneWorld airlines serving the city.

That's good news. Even more ways to avoid LHR now.

Let's just hope that Iberia is still part of the Oneworld Alliance come 2009.

Delhi has been mentioned as a possible future destination for Iberia but all reports I have seen put it in phase two, after Tokyo and Shangai, apparently planned for late 2009. Unless plans have changed a lot lately a January 2009 start for Delhi seems rather optimistic, particularly in line with the current undecided ownership situation and changes at the top. I don't know, it just doesn't seem like the right time for making that type of decisions but then what do I know about running an ariline.

How is Iberia longhaul these days? It's been about five years since I flew with them to South America, can't say I have particularly fond memories. Have things improved?

First is gone; Business Plus is very good; economy is hit and miss, but I find it acceptable, all this despite IB horror stories in FT, which abound to the point of excess.

I thought DEL would be part of phase two as well, along with HKG. Personally, I think HKG is a obvious choice as their next destination in Asia with good connections on CX.
