The OWE FAQ Update Thread

OK, I don't call, I don't write. Due to changes in my traveling patterns and the arrival of a couple of kids, I have been more than a litte absent from this board apart from lurking. There have obviously been many, many, changes in OW since I collated the sticky info. In keeping with the original project where I offered to be scribe and collect the wisdom of others, please post here your suggested updates to the FAQ. I would rather to this in this "throwaway" thread than the FAQs themselves, so that newbies don't have to trawl through 50 pages of updates.

Once you have all lobbed your suggestions out there, I will collect them and update the thread. Hopefully this will somewhat of an iterative process over the next month or so as we work to get the FAQs where they need to be - me posting updates and you offering comments and criticisms. PM is fine if you prefer, but the thread is easier for me to print off and read.

Cheers, eamus

One major change is for the FAQ to refer to the official OW rules, which are now in a sensible format and much easier to read than before:

The problem is that this link changes with each version. I don't really know how to solve that.

The fares are now available on the OW site - that should have a link.
An explanation about surface segments being included.

Certainly.

There's a lot more information now available.

As Kiwi Flyer posted: Fare Estimate for xONEx fares from different countries.
The oneworld website now publishes the rules and base rates for most oneworld fare products (xONEx, XCIRnn etc)

Look here: Air Travel Options for an overview, here: oneworld Explorer for xONEx information.

This is all good stuff. Keep 'em coming !!

Hopefully if the US credit markets start to get their collective heads together, I will be allowed sufficient time to breathe and maybe even update the FAQs.

I'd love to see an updated list of routes that still offer 3-class service. I'm even willing to help compile this but I'm not really sure how to go about it...

Also some of the information QF009 has entered in this thread would be good to have in the FAQ.
