Surface segments in a DONE5

I ask here for clarification, having asked on another forum. As part of a DONE5 I would like to arrive at LGW and exit LHR. Does this count as a surface segment? I have asked QF ""umm we are not sure...". Apparently BA say it is a segment. Anyone with AA experience on this issue?

Since the rule change just recently occurred I'm not sure anyone has a definitive answer for you. The thread I referenced does show some confusion on AA's part with even applying the rule change to xonex's that predate the rule change (when the rule change clearly should not apply). Call the rtw desk and ask and let us know what they say. While the LHR-LGW surface segment question doesn't usually affect me (I don't do that transfer anymore) JFK-LGA possibly would affect me in the future but not under my open AONE4 or ones I am currently planning.

Right, and even in the event of someone getting this ticketed either way that's still not going to be definitive, at least not until we either see it spelled out in the rules or get two or three actual ticketed reports (as distinct from just booked, or talked about). Past experience shows some major issues (like ORD-DEL, for example) taking quite some time to settle.

Exactly. I've flown DONE tickets with total length of 7 days and and an IB flight codeshared with TAP metal. Doesn't mean I thought that the rules had changed.
