LAX TBIT Updates?

I haven't been able to locate any reliable recent information on opening dates for the new OW TBIT F and C lounges. Anyone?

That's because there aren't any reliable dates.

Earlier thread had on *A forum from post in June had mentioned a July 20th opening day for the *A lounge. I would guess both will open around New Years. Too bad for me, I'm flying on 7/20...

The Qantas website is talking about opening in September.

From September 2007, members with access to The Qantas Club can enjoy a new lounge experience in Los Angeles. Qantas, in partnership with Cathay Pacific and British Airways, is developing new First and Business lounges in the Tom Bradley International terminal. The new lounges will offer more space, more seating, luxury shower suites and enhanced business facilities.

Bummer with the Sept 07 opening. I was hoping the OW lounge would open around the same time as the Star Alliance lounge. I'm flying this Sunday on CX and will have to use that dump of a first class lounge by the food court. I wonder if the Business class lounge is any better?

I flew QF J LAX-AKL in February. When I checked in, QF gave me an invitation to the J lounge. I'd read (here and in the L.A. Times) about the TBIT temporary F and J lounges and asked QF about the F lounge, and was told they didn't use it, only the J. So I took the shuttle bus out to J and back. It's not a bad lounge (for being a bunch of trailers lashed together), but the busses are annoying. (Also flew QF J in November, before the old lounges were closed, and then they insisted that OW emeralds weren't eligible to use the F lounge.)

The old TBIT lounges closed last October.

Oh, right, thanks. Sorry about that, I'd mixed up the dates. November we flew LAX-SYD so we left from T4 and hence used the FL. It was July that we flew LAX-BNE and left from TBIT, and that's when the QF check-in agent insisted we couldn't use the F lounge. (Of course, if I'd been thinking, I'd have gone there anyway, and seen if they'd let us in.)
