Critic my DONE4
I am planning a DONE4 RTW ticket for next year. Is this itn valid?
1 SFO-ORD
2 ORD-AMM
3 AMM-CAI
4 CAI-BUD
5 BUD-LGW
6 LGW-KEF
7 KEF-LGW
- LGW/LHR
8 LHR-CPT
9 CPT-JNB
10 JNB-WDH
11 WDH-JNB
12 JNB-HKG
13 HKG-ICN
14 ICN-KIX
15 KIX-PEK
16 PEK-HKG
17 HKG-DEL
18 DEL-ORD
19 ORD-DFW
We would have like to have seen Greece, Turkey and maybe Russia, but we ran out of segments. In Africa we did not have a specific reason to go to WDH. Also we did not necessarily want to go to Japan other than to connect into China. We would have liked to see other cities in China also.
I know I will need to buy an extra segment for Europe and an extra segment for Asia.
Will the change of airport LGW/LHR count as a segment?
Will ORD-AMM be substantially better or worse than ORD-LHR-AMM?
Is the DEL-ORD segment as listed valid?
This is purely a pleasure trip. Other than trying to be efficient, we are not trying to maximize anything. We will take about 50 days to do this itn with our 3 children (11, 9, 7 year old). Are we insane? Are these locations safe enough?
Any other suggestions?

Other than the 2 surface segments it appears to be valid, according to mileage monkey.
The rules don't define DEL-ORD as touching Europe (which would cause the itinerary to be invalid), but rather specify a minimum continent count when this flight is included. Thus it has no impact for you.
Since 1 July LGW,LHR surface segment counts to the total of 20. But as you only have 19 flight segments and no other surface segments that is okay.
Purchasing a segment to visit PEK is not necessarily good value - you may be better off taking a surface segment and buying a separate ticket ICN-PEK.

Useing the oneworld validator it seems ok; you will need to buy another two segments.
I substituted LON for LHR/LGW as the use of city codes rather than separate airport codes for the same city appear not to constitute a land segment. As you have 19 segments this would not be an issue with this route.

I am trying to follow this on my blackberry. I assume then my itn is invalid because of del ord? This means I might to fly pvg ord?
