Please help me check my itinerary

I am trying to validate an itinerary lax-syd-hkg-sin-lhr-ams-lgw-dfw-sju-bgi-mia-lax, but I get an error indicating at the SJU-BGI segment that a second international departure is not allowed. Could you check that out or am I misinformed that BGI is part of NA.

Since you started in USA you can only leave US/Canada once. SJU-BGI is the second exit from USA and thus not allowed.

The way around it is to do BGI on a side trip, or start from another country (and not Canada - for the purpose of this rule USA & Canada are the same country).

...but aren't Mexico and the Caribbean also considered part of North America?

For the purposes of the oneworld explorer fare there is North America the continent and USA/Canada the country. The rule your itinerary breaks, as per Kiwi Flyer's post, relates to the country, not the continent.
