Finnair to Mumbai

I have to go to india The week of Dec 10th and Return Jan 1st week. I see Finnair is going to Mumbai starting January, but I am unable to figure out what days they are flying from JFK-HEL-BOM.

I am slightly fleixble with the dates, any help planning this itin would be appreciated.

HEL-BOM shows Mo Tu We Th Sa; so leaving JFK the night before ought to work, albeit a long connect at HEL. Don't think AY flies ex-JFK on Sundays, though.

Or you could go the other way on QF. JFK-->SYD-->BOM
JFK-->SYD QF108 18:40 09:15 (ever day)
SYD-->BOM QF123 10:10 19:15 (Fri, Sun, Wed)

A tight connection (not sure if legal) & QF108 is often late
A *ONE4 round they world may be cheaper and up to 20 segments to get more miles.

Yes, but it would also take much longer and be significantly more expensive than BA? BA has twice daily services to BOM, and I guess about a dozen a day to NYC...

Or something in between in terms of time / cost would be CX I guess. In the winter, CX also operates a daily HKG-BOM service, which is usually not published on their website...

Eh? Why on earth would CX not publish their schedules on their website? That's a bizarre assertion!

I know - I found it very bizarre as well, but they definitely hadn't this past winter. I found out while checking out the availability on a GDS, and then confirmed with my travel agent as well as CX in BOM.

The daily increase is only for Dec / Jan however, and then it goes back to four times a week. This is because of the limited landing rights arrangement between India and Hong Kong.

Pity, since CX is really, really losing out to SQ from BOM, with SQ's twice daily service AND its much more convenient timings...

I had to fly CX in Dec on DEL-HKG-DEL, and to my surprise I found a daily service last Dec/Jan too.

I was quite surprised as the CX website hadn't been updated when I was making my booking plans in Oct. It was the TA who informed me in Dec about the daily frequency applicable for just those two months.
