I take 2-3 round trips on CX in First class between Europe and HK each year. I've read that Asia Miles members have difficulty redeeming miles at very expensive redemption levels so I will not opt for that program.
I probably won't fly enough to earn significant status on any OW program so I'm looking for the OW program that rewards my full fare premium cabin travel with the most miles for redemptions.
Currently, I credit my CX flights to AA and I don't have many miles there nor do I have any status with AA. Should I switch programs? Is there any OW program that will reward me with more than 1.5x miles for my CX flights in F?
Thank you,
CDG 1K

I think I'd stay with AA, for two reasons:
A) 3 round trips in J/F will get you Platinum, after which you will be earning a 100% bonus (the other benefits of PLT are perhaps of less interest to you because you fly paid F).
B) Even if you were to earn more miles with another FFP, the AA burning rate with AA is probably the best out there.

I'd look at converting one of those RTs into a RTW, fly one or two oceanic legs on AA or an AA codeshare while taking the Platinum challenge, save money in the process (a 3-continent FC RTW is cheaper than a CX CDG-HKG F RT) and start earning lots of miles and perks right away.

The 100% mileage bonus is the perk I'm talking about. The RTW idea is only because the Plat challenge rules have changed so that you have to fly on AA metal or codeshares, of which there are none between Europe and HKG. One RTW (or any AA longhaul RT) in a premium class would get you there, then you can renew annually doing what you're doing.

Hello CDG 1K!
I think we met once in LH F on FRA-LAX.
Same problem for me. Paid F on OW is 2.5 times distance (1.5 for F, 100 % for Platinum) at best vs. 3.25 times (3 for F, 0.25 for Status) on Star-LH program.
AA wants 140.000 Miles for an F RT (on CX). Assuming approx. 6000 miles per direction you get 30.000 miles per RT and need around 5 RT to get one free.
LH wants 180.000 Europe-Asia (without a connection in a different Asia Zone). Something like FRA-HKG-TPE would be 240.000. You get almost 40.000 per RT and need 5 RT to get one free. As a SEN there is the 50 % companion discount - which changes the ratio to 1 per 3.5.
These are the best programs for paid F i was able to find.
But: Awards on CX on HKG-Europe are almost impossible to get. When travelling between Asia and Europe i always try to get space on AA/CX first and then on LH/other Star. In three years i succeeded only once on CX (and this was 5 month in advance), but 2 or 3 times a year on LH (sometimes on very short notice).

From AA miles perhaps yes. But as a MPC Diamond I have no major difficulty getting J or F awards on CX HKG-Europe given a little flexibility. But no status bonus, and 140,000 for an F round trip means 8:1 reward ratio, and you have to do 120,000 miles or 80 sectors a year on OneWorld to maintain the status.

What about BA? I've heard that its a good program that allows pooling of miles in a household and a generous upgrade+cash upgrade program.

If member is traveling with a companion on award, it is hard to say. The companion has a high priority, but the member may also take away the seat which will otherwise be available to the companion.
