Help with LONE6 itinerary
syd-ppt, (Question #1)
ppt-lax,
sjo-mia,
mia-gig,
scl-ipc, (Question #2)
ipc-scl,
uio-bue,
bue-lhr,
lgw-kef,
kef-lgw,
hel-pdl,
pdl-hel,
jnb-mru,
mru-jnb,
jnb-hkg,
hkg-bkk,
bkk-hkg,
hkg-pek,
pek-nrt,
kix-cns
My questions are:
1) Is tahiti a viable destination? The oneworld downloadable timetable lists a flight to tahiti but http://slfft.allhyper.com/0.95/award.htm says that there is no such flight. I understand the oneworld timetable has bugs so...which is correct?
2) Also, along the same lines, the oneworld timetable does not list any flights going to Easter Island (Lan Chile from Santiago) past this October. Additionally, I noticed that Lan Chile is no longer listed on the oneworld site. So, is this still a viable destination?
3) Does anyone have any other tips on how else could I get the most out my itinerary?

LONE6 are not good value, as you only have 20 segments (same as with a LONE5) Take a cheap flight up to BKK and buy a LONE5 there.
How do you plan to get from HEL to JNB ?

I plan on purchasing my own flight from HEL to ATH (or maybe some other form of travel on my way down there; any advice?)
Then I plan on purchasing some other ticket to Cairo since there are very few direct flights that I could find on oneworld from nearby cities.....
Then I plan on doing some overland travel down to JNB; or maybe purchasing a few one-way tix since oneworld doesn't seem to operate in N. Africa!

By "get the most" do you mean maximize miles or better destinations?
As already pointed out, you can't visit Tahiti. You also have quite a few short flights of under 2,000 miles - on my LONE5 I'm planning my shortest flight is 2334 miles and 79,745 total miles flown. The only reason I can see for doing a *ONE6 is if you want to originate in MRU for cost savings. it's an otherwise mostly wasted continent since OW service in Africa is quite poor.
