Paying separately for AA LGLOB ticket

Given the price of ATW tickets, it is probable that the situation comes up when two or more people are on a PNR but neither of them have one credit card with a limit high enough to pay for both tickets at once. Or it could be friends travelling together like backpackers going around the world and they want to pay separately. Does anyone have experience with a situation where two or more people travelling together on a ATW ticket (purchasing direct through AA not a TA) have paid for their own tickets separately? Does AA allow this or have a specific policy against it?

Not a direct answer to your question, and your credit card may not allow this solution, but I routinely transfer money to my Visa credit card, leaving a positive balance that together with the credit limit is enough to pay for any amount.

Nope, already been down that route. Amex won't allow it. I want to use the for the MR points because I am saving up for a free PC hotel in Bora Bora in 2 years.

In that case ask AA to split the PNR, pay for them separately and then ask AA to link the PNRs.

I got AA in SYD to give me 2 credit card verification forms for 2 people on 1 PNR (had to pay for them seperately to qualify for the premium baggage insurance for both people) - she just split the price so it is possible, though if it doesn't work, splitting the PNR would be easy to do.
